Event: Sheridan College Presents Josh Wright at the WYO
Description: 2pm at the WYO Theater. Acclaimed for his "sparkling and sensitive" performances, 22 year-old Josh Wright has delighted audiences across the United States and in Europe. He has been playing piano concertos with symphony orchestras since the age of ten. Philip Dieckow, writing for the International Pinault Society, praised JoshÃs 2004 New York performance of Chopin's 24 Etudes as "brilliant, stunning and effortless". The winner of numerous national and international piano competitions, Josh has recently been accepted for the prestigious 2010 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. After his January 2009 recital in Sheridan, he is returning to the WYO Theater as the premiere performer of the Sheridan College Young Musical Artist in Residency Series. His program, featuring works for music lovers of various tastes and ages, includes compositions by Ravel, Chopin, Debussy, Joplin, Yiruma, "Twilight," "Super Mario Bro's," and Josh Wright.
