Hiking and backpacking are very popular in the Big Horns and with good
reason - the scenery is spectacular.
There are many Forest Service campgrounds in the Bighorn National Forest,
or camp on your own without the facilities! Be sure to find out about fire restrictions
before camping in the Bighorn National Forest.
Mountain
lodges along US Highway 16 west of Buffalo also provide pack trips into the Cloud Peak
Wilderness Area.
The many lakes and streams in the Big Horns are popular for trout fishing.
