  • Fishing - For the angler, there are many places to cast a line including the Powder River (near Kaycee), area reservoirs and the alpine lakes and streams of the Big Horn National Forest.  Outfit yourself in one stop at the Sports Lure where you can rent fishing equipment and purchase an out-of-state license.

  • Big Horn Mountains - The Big Horn Mountains lay claim to over 900,000 acres of natural beauty making it the prefect recreational playground for hiking, camping, backpacking and ATV riding.   • Hunting - Johnson County offers incredible hunting opportunities for deer, elk, moose, mountain lion and upland game birds. Area outfitters, including Old West Adventures, South Fork Mountain Lodge, Sports Lure, and Triple Three Outfitters,  offer guided hunts or you can go on your own.   • Guest Ranches - Johnson County's guest ranches acquaint visitors with the Old West experience of cattle drives, horseback riding, and wagon hay rides.   • FREE Outdoor Pool & City Park - The Buffalo City Park boasts its status as the home of Wyoming's largest free outdoor swimming pool, making it a mecca for adults and children alike in the summer. The park also has tennis courts and great playgrounds for the kids. Pets are welcome.
